This page is intended for visitors from abroad. If you are coming from Finland, check: www.duelmasters.fi/megamiitti
Mega meet is a bigger and longer event than a normal DMF event. We've been planning this for a longer time. At the center of the event are various tournaments with good prizes to be won! The aim is to get international participants as well.
And now it's finally happening!
The venue is Aulanko Grand Villa, located in Hämeenlinna Finland, just 6 kilometers from the train station, at: Aulangon-Heikkilän tie 168, 13900 Hämeenlinna Finland.
Registration is now open, and the first 40 people who reserved their places can join.
Schedule can be seen below or as an image here.
Or at www.duelmasters.fi/mmform
The participation fee will be 80€ (euro). The fee includes accommodation, tournament fees and some breakfast. For additional 10€ the venue can provide you bedding if you don't want to bring your own. Towel can be also provided for additional 3€ cost.
After filling the form, we will send you a confirmation email (we do this manually and try to check new participants at least once every day, so please be patient). Note that the confirmation email will be sent from an @duelmasters.fi email address.
In the confirmation email we'll tell you that you have a spot reserved and we'll ask some optional extra questions. We will also include the payment details for the participation fee in the email. The participation fee must be paid within two weeks from the confirmation email or you'll lose your reserved spot. After the payment is made, your registration is final and can't be refunded even if you can't make it to the event. We may allow cancelling participation if the event is full and there are people in the queue.
Payment can be made with direct bank transfer or PayPal. If these aren't an option to you, let us know and we'll try to figure out an alternative method.
IF the event is full, we'll still send you an email informing that the event is full and we can add you to a queue if new spots comes available. We might be able to get more than 40 spots if needed. More about that if the event becomes full.
During the event, three different tournaments will be held. All of which will reward the TOP-3 players, as well as the winner of the vote for the most creative deck. Rules and prizes can be seen below. Prize pool might be increased later if we get more participant than expected.
If you have any questions about the formats, rules, card mechanics, practices or anything regarding tournaments, we encourage you to contact us in advance so we can avoid negative surprises and the tournaments can go as smoothly as possible.
In case of any troubles during the tournaments, we reserve the right to judge as we see to be the best solution in each situation. We can decide how some confusing mechanics are played, give you a match loss or even disqualify from the tournament if the think that is fair for the situation. But we hope no such situations comes up and everyone can enjoy the tournaments. Therefore read the following rules carefully and contact us if you are unsure about something.
We have created Tournament Guidelines to clarify common playing rules. Please read it carefully and familiarize yourself with the general tournament rules below.
Tournament Guidelines can be found here.
(More details will be added if needed or asked.)
Proxies and fake cards are not allowed.
We are aware that some people would like to play with proxies. After some in depth discussion and voting, we've decided that this time proxies wont be allowed. Main reason being that this way we can ensure that the tournaments can go more smoothly and we can avoid unnecessary troubles.
We recommend you to get OCG versions of the expensive cards. On Discord you can ask for help how to order Japanese cards from Japan.
Misleading misprints are not allowed.
We have decided to not allow the use of misleading misprints in our tournaments. By misleading we mean cards that has incorrect mana cost, power, other incorrect numbers, symbols, civilization, is notably miscut or has other visual elements that may lead to your opponent to misplay.
We allow the use of misprints that are not misleading for English (only) speaking persons. They will still play the same way as the correct English version of the card.
Examples:
German Apocalypse Vise incorrectly tells you to destroy any number of your opponents creatures that has power 8000 or less. But to someone who doesn't understand German, the card seems completely normal. Therefore German Apocalypse Vise is allowed and will work the same way as the English one does.
German Rumble Gate incorrectly gives +2000 power instead of +1000. This can be misleading even if you don't understand German if you kinda remember what the card does but not 100% sure. Therefore German Rumble Gate is not allowed.
Notably damaged or altered cards are not allowed.
If a card is notably bent, heavily curved, missing pieces, taped, laminated, has stickers, major pen marks, foiling is badly peeling etc. it is not allowed. The condition of cards should be 'good enough' so that they don't stand out from rest of the cards. We understand that many of the cards are played or even damaged and that foils tend to curve and so on. Therefore we don't want to be too strict about this. But we also want the tournaments to be fair so we may intervene with extreme cases. You can ask in advance whether some of your cards are good enough to be used.
Some examples of cards that would be banned condition wise:
Sleeves has to be identical.
All sleeves in your decks must be identical, meaning two thing:
1) Sleeves must be same style and from same brand. You are not allowed to mix sleeves of same colour from different brands.
2) Sleeves must be in good condition. If a card stands out from rest of the deck because its sleeve is damaged or otherwise identifiable, that is not allowed. You either have to replace the damaged sleeve or buy new sleeves for the deck. It is wise to take some replacement sleeves to the event in case some sleeves gets damaged during a tournament.
Also, it is recommended to use sleeves which you can't see through at all. With some sleeves you can partially see the back of cards and that can become an issue if your cards are identifiable from the back side. If during a tournament any kind of mark is visible through a sleeve, that may result to a match loss and you are required to replace the marked/damaged card or the sleeves.
Japanese and other foreign cards are allowed.
You are allowed to play with cards of other languages as long as they are also released in English and are part of the format. Only exception are Korean (Duel Legend) and Kaijudo cards - they are not allowed.
If you are playing with foreign cards, you'll have to tell your opponent what a card does if you are asked.
You can also use later reprints of the cards. If you are using later prints, make sure the card actually is the card you think it is. For example Japanese Slash Charger (スラッシュ・チャージャー) is very similar but completely different card than the English Slash Charger (ロスト・チャージャー). Or there are cards very similar to Aqua Hulcus which actually are modified versions of Aqua Hulcus. While these can be hard to supervise, we don't allow them.
We have given special permission to the following 5 cards. Originally they were released slightly differently in Japanese but changed in English release. They can be used as if they were their English counterparts. These 5 cards are not misleading to someone who doesn't understand Japanese and therefore were allowed. There are other cards too that were originally released differently but we haven't allowed them due to their misleading nature (for example power or mana cost is different).
Allowed original releases (are played the same way as the English versions):
Cyber Brain = Brain Serum (DM-01 27/110)
Deep Operation = Thought Probe (DM-02 22/55)
Wicked Soul Reincarnation = Intense Evil (DM-06 61/110)
Curse Totem = Cryptic Totem (DM-07 47/55)
Skeleton Vice = Cranium Clamp (DM-08 27/55)
If forbidden cards are used
If there ends up being a situation where someone has (intentionally or unintentionally) forbidden cards in a deck during a tournament, the player is required to switch that card to an allowed card. If the card is spotted during an on-going match, the opponent will get a win for that match. The player has to replace that card with an usable version of the card before the next match starts. You are not allowed to change the card to anything else than what it was supposed to be since the start. If the player doesn't manage to replace the card by the start of the next match or if the forbidden card is outside the format rules, judges will lend a similar vanilla creature card which must be used to replace the forbidden card. For example if the forbidden card is a 3 mana nature card, it will be replaced by a 3 mana vanilla nature creature or closest available - judges will choose. Multi civ cards are replaced by mono cards.
The main tournament will use DMF restrictions. We will have a new restriction survey amongst the Finnish community soon during the spring. Therefore there might be minor changes to the restrictions but expect them to be very similar. We will update the final restrictions to this page.

Since our current group of participants consists only of adults, we require participants to be 18 years or older. The event itself does not contain content harmful to minors, but we are unable to look after minors or take responsibility for them. With this, we also offer other participants a more relaxed atmosphere.
The event, like other DMF events, is very casual and communal. It is organized by volunteers, and it does not seek profit for the association. Therefore, we expect the participants to be independent in basic matters, such as keeping the places clean. We have organized events in a spirit open to everyone, so we do not accept any kind of inappropriate behavior or harassment.
We treat the use of alcohol at all our events as follows:
"You can moderately drink mild sauna drinks at the event. We trust that everyone knows how to behave and stick to the agreed upon. This event is not for drinking."
The association cannot take responsibility for guests' belongings, so please look after your stuff.
By default, everyone brings their own food. There are shops and food places available at Hämeenlinna. Nearest shop is within 5 kilometers from the venue and more at the centrum of Hämeenlinna which is about 7 kilometers form the venue.
However, the association offers some basic breakfast and evening snacks, such as porridge, bread and fruit. When registering, you can state your special diets and wishes, which we will try to fulfill as best we can.
Regarding lunch and dinner, we suggest cooperating with other participants. For example, order food in larger groups, or when preparing food, try make it for a larger group. Everyone contributing equally to the costs.
There is a kitchen available at the venue.
The event takes place in Aulanko Grand Villa at: Aulangon-Heikkilän tie 168, 13900 Hämeenlinna Finland.
We will happily help you figuring out which tickets you should purchase in Finland in order to get to the venue. We are also planning to gather a group in Helsinki so we can travel together to the Venue.
Here is a quick guide for the simplest way to get to the venue, more details below:
- Arrive at Helsinki Airport
- Helsinki Airport --> P-train to Tikkurila Vantaa (3€, ~10 minutes)
- Tikkurila Vantaa --> R-train to Hämeenlinna (12€, ~1 hour 20 minutes)
- Hämeenlinna --> We will have someone with a car to take you to the venue (~10 minutes)
If you want to visit Helsinki centrum first, you can take a very similar route:
- Arrive at Helsinki Airport
- Helsinki Airport --> P-train to Helsinki main railway station (4.1€, ~35 minutes)
- Helsinki --> R-train to Hämeenlinna (12€, ~1 hour 35 minutes)
- Hämeenlinna --> We will have someone with a car to take you to the venue (~10 minutes)
Alternative route is to arrive at Tampere-Pirkkala Airport if that is more suitable place to fly:
- Arrive at Tampere-Pirkkala Airport
- Tampere-Pirkkala Airport --> Bus 103 to Tampere railway station (4.5€, ~20 minutes)
- Tampere --> R-train to Hämeenlinna (7.5€, ~50 minutes)

Tickets to all of the mentioned trains and busses can be purchased at location, no need to reserve a seat. Prices are for one-way tickets.
Alternative to R-train is to use Intercity train which is slightly faster. Ticket to an Intercity train has to be purchased in advance and the price vary based on how soon you purchase the ticket. If purchased months before, the price can be low as 4.5€ from Helsinki and 3.5€ from Tampere. Late purchases can be up to 25€. With R-train the price is always the same.
More info about traveling with P-train and in Helsinki can be seen at the HSL website.
More info about traveling with R-train and other long distance trains can be seen at the VR website.
More info about traveling with busses in Tampere can be seen at the Nysse website.
Don't hesitate to ask about traveling in Finland.
The participation fee includes on-site accommodation on the nights between Monday and Friday. The venue has some kind of sleeping place for every participant. Most will get their own bed, but some will have to sleep on a sofa or in a double bed. Beds are not reserved in advance, but those who register first will have priority for own bed, if they so wish.
By default, everyone has to bring their own bedding. The venue also offers bedding for additional 10€ fee. If you want the bedding provided by the venue, select it in the registration form and pay the additional 10€ fee with the participation fee. Bedding must be ordered in advance, and they wont be available too close to the event.
